Sunday 1st November saw the arrival of the new RIB won by Steven Curtis at the RYA Honda Youth Rib Challange finals in Southampton earlier this year.  After the official handing over of keys to the club, Steven along with the the main team of David Rothwell and Alan Redman, who have been training the young powerboat drivers at the club, took to the water to see how the new rib matched up to the other 2.

Quote of the day has to go to Andy Anderson who repeated a question put to him at a recent RYA Eastern Region meeting.  He was asked if he was embrassed that the club have now 3 ribs from the challenge.  His answer.... "Not at all !!!!"

Following the short testing of the boat a mini rib challenge was run with gauntlet set down to beat Steve's time.  As per the Rib Challenge there were 2 age groups with a third added for the members who just slip outside the youth cut off....  The full results are here

In Summary -

Under 12 Winner - Lewis Redman

13 - 17 Winner - Katrina Curtis

Adults Winner - Dave Rothwell

Now did anyone beat Steven's time????  some came close but not close enough....
